Questions & Answers

How fit do I have to be?
The walking is quite strenuous over rough terrain at times, but we take it slowly and there is plenty of time for stops to take in the wonderful scenery.  If you are reasonably fit and used to hill walking in this country in somewhere like the Lake District, you should be fine.

Do I have to walk?
Not if you don’t want to. On the 2 centre option you can just take the day off, and on the trek you can arrange to meet us at the accommodation for the next night. Both walking options have rest days built in to the itinerary.

What happens if I find it too much?
If you are struggling with the walking there is always the option of taking either public transport or a taxi, and to meet us at the next overnight accommodation. If you are really worried about fitness the 2 centre option is probably the best bet.

What is the weather like?
The walks take place in Mar/June and September/October, and the weather is normally very warm, although it is a little cooler up in the mountains. In Spring the weather can be very changeable. We always obtain weather forecasts before a walk and if there is rain forecast (not very often), you may need some waterproofs. Daytime temperatures are normally in the 70 – 80’s but it can get chilly in the evenings, when you will need a fleece.

Do I need any specialist equipment?
Good quality, comfortable boots or walking trainers are essential. You may also find a walking stick a useful accessory. Lightweight clothing and a waterproof (in case of need) is the best for comfort. Shorts or walking skirts are the norm when it is hot. Finally you will need a day rucksack, a large water bottle and a hat. We issue advice on clothing and equipment as part of the briefing notes.

Do I need insurance?
The answer is yes. We do not take risks on the walks and there is nothing dangerous, but in the mountains accidents can happen and you do need suitable insurance to cover you in the event of a problem.  If you are English you will also need your E111 form or card.

How do I get there?
There are daily flights to Majorca from many regional airports using the low cost carriers. Prices vary according to time of year, day of travel and time of flight. We will meet you  off the plane at Palma airport. We are happy to offer advice on flights, if you need it.

How much money will I need?
Not a great deal. Small amounts to cover public transport, drinks and snack lunches plus the cost of evening meals where specified. Most restaurants take credit cards.
